The Musical Instrument Museum in Berlin opens its doors to classical music fans and headbangers, for romantics and jazz lovers, researchers and enthusiasts from all over the world for young and old.

than 150 priceless guitars from four centuries show the history of an instrument whose diverse musical use of the contradictions built like no other musical instrument else

The special exhibition "Fascination Guitar" taught alongside the guitar stand of Musical Instruments Museum, the history of the guitar in their historical range from the Baroque to the present. Starting with the guitar of the late 17th fünfchörigen Century, an instrument of Martin Kaiser from 1699 states that the exhibition through the centuries up to the Rickenbacher "Frying Pan", which marks the birth of the electric guitar in the 1930s. Special constructions of modern classical guitars and rarities from the area of German e-guitar making - Hofner, Framus, Hoyer and Hopf - round out the historical synopsis.

While histories of the development of the English guitar-making in the 19 Century, usually a central role is given particular emphasis to the special exhibition "Fascination Guitar" is on the as yet neglected and unexplored area of central Germany, southern German and Austrian guitar-making in the 19 Century.
